"Brown~Skinned Ballerina" Brown satin warmed with a breath of rose-gold — a tone that echoes my own. For so many years, I wore ballet pink shoes meant to “extend the line,” even as they softened me into someone else’s idea of beauty. It wasn’t until I stood in the studios of Dance Theatre of Harlem that I saw dancers whose shade was my shade — and their shoes were, too.

This pair honors that moment.
The remembering.
The coming home.

Adorned with a soft rose bouquet, bordered in burlap and lace, Brown-Skinned Ballerina holds the grace and resilience of every dancer who bloomed quietly in the wings, waiting to be seen.
